Our environmental work

We care a lot about our beautiful nature and surroundings. Therefore, we have taken several measures to reduce our footprint on the environment.

As proof of our ongoing environmental work, we are labeled with the Green Key, an international environmental label that is awarded to hotel operations that pay extra attention to the environment, see link: www.greenkey.global 

Our environmental work:

• Kitchen and cleaning staff use eco-labelled cleaning products.
• We sort deposits, glasses and newspapers in guest rooms. In total, we sort by source in the majority of fractions; deposit, glass, metal, plastic, corrugated cardboard and newspapers.
• We work with many locally produced and organic products in our kitchen. Fairtrade products are also bought in to a certain extent.
• We have our own spring and excellent drinking water! All the water we serve is filtered through Thoreau carbon fiber filters which deliver 100% pure water.
• We choose to serve this still or carbonated in self-designed bottles. Through this process, we have removed all bottled water bottles, saving on packaging and shipping.
• Hygiene products found in all bathrooms are natural products from Velate and are certified by Ecocert and labeled by Cosmebio. These are of the "pump bottle" type to avoid unnecessary disposable packaging.
• Since 2005, all buildings have been heated with geothermal heating and highly efficient and energy-efficient heat pumps.
• Over 70% of the light sources are energy-saving, both in outdoor and indoor environments.
• We have installed regulators to reduce the flow of water from faucets and showers. When purchasing a new one, water-saving toilets and water mixers are chosen.
• Guests are informed of our effort to reduce the amount of laundry by using their towels for more than one day.
• This reduces energy and water consumption and reduces emissions from transport to the laundry.
• All office and hygiene paper is eco-labelled.
